"What you need" list

Thanks for the site! I'm a young gardener who's putting together a small indoor hydroponics system for the first time. Your site has been both informative and very entertaining! It really takes the edge off of the countless hours of research required to get such a project off the ground.

One thing that I (and likely other newbies) would find particularly helpful would be a "What you need to think about before the project leaves the idea stage" list. You certainly mention a lot of things to consider before building - such as correctly calculating pump strength, building in the potential for plant support - but a single list of all of the issues you've run into that should have been preempted in the building stage would be fantastic!
