Dual Lighting Systems
by: Larry, Webmaster

Dual lighting systems from what I see contain the full spectrum needed for both plant growth and flowering. I have never personally used one but I know about them.

They use a sodium lamp bulb and a metal halide bulb giving the plants a fuller spectrum of light than any bulb, used separately, could manage (therefore they are expensive to purchase).

What makes plants flower are the shorter and shorter days so if the plants are accustomed to 12 hours of light start tapering them off a few minutes each day until you reach 9 hours then stop.

This should make the plants flower. In addition switch over to the spectrum needed for flowering, that is if you are able to change the spectrum.
