Building a Hydroponic system is not very hard at all. The most expensive component is a pump, fully submersible, and I've seen them as low as $7 USD for a low power, but adequate, pump.

You will also need 2 containers, 1 for growing plants and 1 for holding your nutrient solution - I personally use clothes storage containers.

Also include some tubing, a timer and growing medium such as hydroton or pea stone. Last, but not least, are the plants and the hydroponics nutrient.
