Ebb and flo from seed

by Oli
(bristol uk)

Hi there I'm new to this and I want to set up an ebb and flo system for my tomateos. I'M currently growing them in hanging baskets and grow bags and the british weather isn't doing me any favours. so I need a change of tactic.

Am I able to set up an ebb and flo system using rockwool growing from seed? if so can you tell me the easiest way to do it?

Many Thanks

Rockwool for seedlings
by: Larry

I have personally always had trouble using rockwool. Root rot and damping off disease seem to go hand in hand with rockwool for me because of the high moisture content.

I'm not saying that rockwool is a bad thing it is merely something I have not worked with enough.

My suggestion is to germinate seeds in rockwool by themselves meaning not in the ebb/flow system so you have better control over how much moisture you keep in the rockwool.

Once seedlings germinate then drop the whole rockwool cube and seedling right into the ebb/flow system and you will be good to go.
