Dutch Pot Bato Bucket
by: Larry, Webmaster

A Dutch pot otherwise known as a Bato Bucket is basically an ebb/flow hydroponics system where nutrient solution from a nutrient reservoir is pumped into pots each holding a plant in some kind of growing medium. This solution is pumped in for a set time and then allowed to drain from the pot back into the reservoir to be reused.

And, yes, it would be perfect for growing onions since hydroponics can grow just about any plant. For onions, the watering cycle interval should be adjusted to pump nutrient solution for 5 minutes per hour each hour to begin with. Watch the plant for signs of stress and adjust the timing accordingly.
