Hydroponic Calcium Levels
by: Larry

The best way to raise calcium levels in your hydroponics system is to add some Calcium Nitrate.

If you suspect a calcium deficiency such as leaf tip burn it may very well not be an actual deficiency in the nutrient water.

Over 90% of calcium deficiency problems are caused by environmental conditions such as a plant disease, low growing temperature or even high humidity.

Calcium travels through the plant and out to the leaves when needed so when water from a leaf evaporates, more water and calcium is automatically brought to the leaf. High humidity means little evaporation so calcium uptake is reduced.

In this case, fix the environment and you fix the calcium deficiency.
